AGM December 2008
In December 2008 Publish What You Pay Nigeria witnessed went through a leadership transition event which led to the dissolution of the then 13 member steering committee members and the selection of new leaders through a democratic process that produced a 7-member National Executive Board for PWYP Nigeria, which is the policy making arm of the coalition. The present policy making arm of the PWYP Nigeria coalition is constituted by 6 members elected from their constituencies and a chair elected by the general Assembly. The following are the names of the members of the board:

1. Nwadishi O. Faith – Chair of the board
2. Tola Winjobi – member North-Central
3. Elder Ogazi Emeka – member South-East
4. Akie Hart – member South-South
4. Muhammad Mustapha – member North-West
5. Obed Tarkie – member North-East
6. Ada Agina – member South-West

Donors Conference May 2009
A donor conference was held in Abuja which provided an opportunity for stakeholders to critique the five-year strategic work plan and the 1-year work plan. Recommendations from the conference were used to develop a workable plan for the year 2009 in view of strengthening the coalition and its relationship with both local and international stakeholders.

NEITI Validation process
Publish What You Pay Nigeria is actively involved in the EITI Validation process. They were engaged in the consultative fora, and made substantial contributions in terms of strategy recommendations to the NEITI secretariat towards the success of the validation process.

Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) Press Releases April 2009
PWYP Nigeria issued 3 press statements on the PIB prior to its public hearing in July, stressing the need for a new regime for the extractive industry in Nigeria. Letters have also been sent to both the Presidency and the National Assembly with the view to strengthening advocacy on the issue.

PWYP with other CSOs in the country have articulated their submission on the proposed bill. Memorandum on the Petroleum Industry Bill 2009 is available on the PWYP website.
